The Prague Cup

As every year this year we also participate in Prague Cup (running and swimming). Last two years we were very successful and students from our school won the second place. This year we started with new people and one of them is also Marek who participates in paracup for disabled students. We wish them all luck!

League Agains the Cancer

We participated in a concerd during Day against the cancer organized by League against the Cancer in Prague.

A conference

In our school we have so called Themes days when everybody from upper school can choose one of the themse regardless of their classes. In groups of about 15 they work on it for 4 days and in the end we have a conference to publish our outcomes. It is very inreresting as we go outside of school and do films, take photos, make ppt presentation and posters and then we show it to others. This year we could choose from 12 themes.

New readers

Our first graders were knighted by their teachers as new readers in the last day of their Year 1. Everybody liked it and was very happy. The helpers were from Year 5.

How to communicate with deaf people

We tried to communicate in sign language. It was great. We learned how to say many words. We learned how to clapp our hands when applauding and how to say good apetite. It was very interesting. The name of our new friend is Sergi Bovkun, his interpreter´s name was Naďa Dingová.

You can do it!

We hosted a concert and a very interesting chat with Gipsy.cz. We were talking and singing about rasism, xenofobia, bullying, drug abuse ect. It was very interesting to hear stories of growing up as Roma in the Czech Republic.

The witches day

The April 30 is the Witches day in the Czech Republic. It is something like Guy Fawkes crossed with Halloween. People make big fires and they burn witches made from straw. At school we organized a witches fair and meeting. It was fun.

Afternoon tea

We made English afternoon tea for pupils in our school. They were drinking tea and playing games in English.

A concert for Václav Havel

We organized a concert to pay a tribute after Václav Havel died. The whole country is very sad.It was in all news around the world. Prague pays tribute to Vaclav Havel

Příbram 2011

Connecting in Příbram There you can see the post on our school website. We went to Příbram to meet our friends from Connecting Classrooms Project. We dd many interesting things. We communicated in English, Czech and we also learn some words in Czech sign language. Did you know that there is a different sign language for Czech, Englich or Portugeese? We had a great time and we made a wall sign language dictionary.
